Digital & Real-Space Storytelling For Your Business, Life, & Passions… Ever Since the Days of Dial-Up.

You:

If authenticity isn’t at the core of who you are, and a mission isn’t at the core core of what you do, then the question remains,
why do it in the first place?

You’ve likely ended up here for one of two reasons.

One: you’ve got a clearly defined project, but only a vague idea of how to execute it. Such as, you need a website. You need a social media presence. You have an event/product/project that needs visibility. You just aren’t sure how to get there.

Or, Two: you’ve got a vaguely defined project, but very clear means to make it happen. Such as, you tried to mount this new project yourself, because there’s no one else around to help, and you thought you could figure it out as you went along. Turns out, there were a lot more parts to this thing than you had originally realized, and now you are swimming in details. You’ve got a small budget to bring somebody on board, and a tight timeline to make it happen.

Most significantly, you have a story to tell.

Me:

“… a strange feeling about using the word marketing.”

I’m a connector of dots, an imaginer of a web of ideas and actions, a motivator for the overwhelmed, a communicator to communities of all kinds.

I’m a storyteller. I use words, websites, music, and media of all types to communicate your ideas.

I do mission & values-based, authentic communication with interested audiences for interesting and exceptional companies, organizations, brands, and creative industry entities.

I’m also a musician, producer, DJ, and remixer.

I still have a strange feeling about using the word marketing, because the work that you and I will do is so much more, and so much more wide-ranging than marketing. I’m just as much of a de-marketer, an un-marketer, a re-marketer.

To be clear, I do all of the marketing things, and have proven successes in so many areas of traditional and digital marketing and media.

  • web design
  • web development & management
  • content writing
  • SEO writing
  • content development/production
  • social media marketing
  • digital community management
  • email marketing
  • publicity
  • public relations
  • media relations
  • digital advertising
  • print advertising
  • publishing
  • collateral merchandise marketing
  • audio/video production
  • event production
  • talent buying

We are just going to do these things a little differently. With a focus on our work meaning something, so we can say something meaningful.

I’ve done this work of connecting, organizing, and magnifying for many individuals, institutions, businesses, organizations, and endeavors. I’ve enjoyed a variety of work environments including freelance, contract, project-based, remote, in-house, vendor of note, part-time, and full-time.

My full résumé of work experience can be found on Indeed by clicking here.

We:

Everyone has an important story to tell.
You first.

We do authenticity around here. When I say we I mean you and I. Because, unlike a lot of marketers, I’m really not using a royal we. There’s no magical staff working behind the scenes over here. It’s you, and me. We are the team.

And, we are going to figure your stuff out.

We could be talking about a lot of different things when we say the word stuff. Your stuff could be complicated. You have a product, a project, a cottage industry, a business opportunity, a chance to level up your whole thing. You’re not quite sure how to get there. You are pretty sure you can’t do this alone, either. But, you’re almost certain that you couldn’t ever figure out how to work with somebody else on something so personal.

I get it. That’s why I do what I do with the people I do it with. Creative thinkers, community-minded concepts, and exceptional ideas need a team, too. Even if that team is just for a short period or endeavor, and whether that team is just you and me, a small company of employees, or a board of directors for a nonprofit organization.

Them:

You and your business (product, project, idea)
have specific needs.

And, many marketing firms don’t understand where you are coming from. At all.

Web designers confidently assure you that they will design you something that looks and works great after you send along all of your finished content. They will just simply work from there. But, that’s the problem. You’re not quite sure about your content, your tone, your pitch, and even if you’re barking up the right tree in the first place.

Web development firms offer to put their best SEO writer on the project, to optimize all of your copy on your site, so you will rank the highest in Google search results. But, the word salad that their machine spit out is soulless, lifeless, and pretty pointless. They just didn’t get you, or what you are trying to do.

Social media managers point to their own hype influencer content on the latest social media platform du jour, with all of their own crew of followers. In 6 to 18 months, they will have learned a hard but valuable lesson; great, engaging content will always be king. Regardless of how it gets served.

And most, if not all, great content of any type starts with well-written words on a page (or screen.)
